Airport Transportation Between Oak Island and ILM or MYR
Wilmington International Airport is about 45 to 50 minutes from Oak Island, and for guests coming up from South Carolina, Myrtle Beach International is about 1 hour 15 minutes to 1 hour 30 minutes from the island. Oak Island's beach road runs from end to end, with Caswell Beach at the eastern side near the lighthouse. The GV Barbee Bridge and Swain's Cut bridge connect the island with the mainland.
Southport is about 20 to 25 minutes from Oak Island, and downtown Wilmington is about 35 to 40 minutes away. Traffic at either bridge can change the trip time.
